For when you want the centerpiece of your table to steal the spotlight from the turkey (and it will).
Give your Thanksgiving ham a delicious twist with Bear & Burton’s Breakfast Sauce. This glaze brings sweet heat and a savory depth that elevates a classic spiral-cut ham into the star of the table. With hints of brown sugar, mustard, and cloves, each bite will be perfectly flavorful.
Ingredients
-
1/2 cup Bear & Burton’s Breakfast Sauce
-
1 spiral-cut ham (8-10 lbs)
-
1/4 cup brown sugar
-
2 tbsp Dijon mustard
-
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
-
1 tsp ground cloves
Directions
Preheat the Oven: Set the oven to 325°F and place the ham in a roasting pan.
Make the Glaze: In a saucepan, combine the Breakfast Sauce, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, and ground cloves. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, then remove from heat.
Glaze It Up: Brush the glaze all over the ham, making sure it gets into the spiral cuts for maximum flavor. Cover the ham loosely with foil.
Bake and Baste: Bake the ham for about 2 hours, basting with the glaze every 30 minutes. Remove the foil for the last 30 minutes of cooking to let the glaze caramelize.
Serve with Style: Allow the ham to rest for a few minutes before serving. Slice and enjoy the perfect balance of sweet and spicy flavors.
Recipe Note
- Extra Glaze: Use any remaining glaze as a sauce on the side for added flavor.
- Cooking Time: For an extra-large ham, adjust the cooking time accordingly, adding approximately 15 minutes per pound.
