Ingredients
-
4 Bratwurst sausages
-
2 tablespoons Bear & Burton's W SAUCE®
-
2 tablespoons olive oil
-
1 large onion, sliced into thin rings
-
1 green bell pepper, sliced into strips
-
1/2 cup yellow mustard
-
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
-
1 teaspoon salt
-
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Directions
Preheat your grill to medium heat (about 350°F). If using charcoal, ensure coals are evenly distributed for direct grilling.
In a large skillet over medium heat, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Once heated, add the sliced onions and green bell pepper. Sauté, stirring occasionally, until the onions are caramelized and golden brown, about 10-12 minutes. Season with salt and black pepper, then remove from heat.
While the vegetables are cooking, prepare the bratwurst. Prick each bratwurst with a fork a few times to prevent them from bursting on the grill. Brush them lightly with olive oil and season with salt and black pepper.
Place the bratwurst on the preheated grill. Cook for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until they are nicely browned and have an internal temperature of 160°F. Brush the bratwurst with 2 tablespoons of Bear & Burton's W SAUCE® during the last 2-3 minutes of cooking for a flavorful glaze.
Remove the bratwurst from the grill and let them rest for a couple of minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute for maximum flavor.
To serve, place each bratwurst in a bun and top generously with the sautéed onions and bell peppers. Drizzle with additional Bear & Burton's W SAUCE® if desired, and a dollop of yellow mustard. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color.
