The bird that’s so good, you won’t miss the picture-perfect centerpiece. Plus, no fighting over who gets the drumsticks.
Forget the traditional whole turkey this year and try a deconstructed approach that not only cooks faster but packs a punch of bold flavor. With Bear & Burton’s Fireshire as the star ingredient, this turkey is coated in a marinade that adds a smoky, slightly sweet heat to every juicy bite. No more fighting over drumsticks—each piece is perfectly seasoned and roasted to crispy-skinned perfection.
Ingredients
-
1/2 cup Bear & Burton’s Fireshire
-
1 whole turkey (12-14 lbs), spatchcocked and cut into pieces
-
1/4 cup olive oil
-
2 tbsp honey
-
1 tbsp smoked paprika
-
Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions
Marinate the Pieces: In a large bowl, mix together the Fireshire, olive oil, honey, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Rub this marinade all over the turkey pieces, making sure each piece is well-coated for maximum flavor.
Roast with Confidence: Preheat your oven to 425°F. Lay the marinated turkey pieces flat on a baking sheet, skin side up. Roast for about 45 minutes, flipping each piece halfway through for even cooking, until the skin is crispy and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Serve and Flex: Let the turkey rest for a few minutes before serving. With crispy skin, juicy meat, and bold flavor, this deconstructed turkey will make your guests think you hired a private chef. No centerpiece needed—this show bird stands out all on its own!
Recipe Note
- Perfect Spatchcocking: If you’re new to spatchcocking, ask your butcher to do it for you, or find a tutorial online to make the process easier.
- Flavor Additions: Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice after roasting for a burst of freshness to balance the smoky heat.
